Oudh perfumes have a special and unique characteristic scent. Some perfume oils are so rare; they are simply beyond comparison. Oudh or Agarwood is the pure oil extracted from the wood of the Agarwood trees. The making of Oudh is an extremely labour intensive effort. It is so precious, that one kilogram of Agarwood, when distilled through steam would result in anything between 1ml to 1.5ml of pure Oudh oil. Overall, Oudh is about unique and perfect fragrances, which are loved by perfume enthusiasts all over the world. There are different qualities of Oudh perfume oils.

A quick word about the different qualities of Oudh perfumes. Throughout the world of the Oudh community, the thickness is viewed as an indication of quality. Similarly darkness in colour. Yet it is easy to create thick Oudh oils by merely leaving them uncovered exposed to the open air for several weeks, a few months or even years. But the result after this procedure is oxidised Oudh oil. Regarding the colouration, you can change any Oudh dark by doing a small modification to the condenser. All in all neither of the two thickness nor darkness means the Oudh oil is of high quality.
